This house dating from the 1980s was in need of updating and our client wished to extend at the same time.
Nearby university buildings and the particular geometry of the house informed the extension's shape. Due to a south facing aspect, roof overhangs, automatic blinds and solar control glass are employed to mitigate overheating. Internally the house underwent extensive structural alterations to create more open space and make use of the increased light entering from the new elevation. |
