Extension, Cambridge

Remodelling and extension of an Edwardian town house in Cambridge.

Although fine examples of their era, the traditional layout of these houses closes off the garden from the interior of the building.

This project therefore removes several peripheral rooms to form a contemporary living space directly linked with the outside.

The materials chosen are both contemporary and sympathetic, with an emphasis on simplicity: zinc, frameless glass and stone.
