Following the success of the Red Lion Inn, RBA were commissioned in 2011 to work on its new sister pub: a grade II listed inn at Balsham in Cambridgeshire.

The brief was the restoration, alteration and refurbishment of an 18th century hall adjoined to the inn, which had been badly mistreated over the years and was on the point of falling down.

A programme of replacing the roof, rebuilding some of the walls and restoring the high-ceilinged interior was embarked upon.

The result breathes new life into this important example of historic architecture while providing the Cambridge area with a new restaurant, function room and community space.
